Columbia College
My Journey in Education
At age 18, I knew what I wanted to do for a career...at least I thought I did.
However, after a year and a half at a large university, where I felt as if I were only
a number and not a person, I was more confused than ever. I didn't know what I
wanted to do nor how to find the answer to that question. So, I took a break to
figure it all out.
It wasn't until I started working full-time in the 'real world' that I began to learn what skills I had and what I enjoyed doing. I continued my break from school for several years, taking classes here and there until I ultimately decided to pursue a degree in business.
Completing my degree took much longer than I originally planned, but I am thankful that I took the time to discover my existing skills and identify the areas in which I wanted to improve. After learning what I was passionate about, I chose a degree that would equip me with the necessary skills for my career. Once I made this choice, I was more engaged and invested in my coursework and performed at a high level. Check out my project titled 'Columbia College' at the top of this page to view the awards and recognitions I received.
